We believe that web technology has to be the foundation of any sound platform and links are one fundamental piece of this web technology. It is important to learn how to use links correctly in order to get the maximum value from using this platform.
Every time that you create a page, you will create a link to that page. E.g if you create a page called test
on the team nitoku.public
you will be at the same time creating the link https://www.nitoku.com/@nitoku/test
that can be used to access that page.
Note that the name of the page can't be change after you create it. URLs are intended to remain unchanged for many years into the future, and allowing changes to the page name will make your links susceptible to link rot.
Personal pages use links as well, you can use those links to navigate between your personal pages, E.g if you create a page called test
and your user name is userA
you will create the link https://www.nitoku.com/@userA/test
that you can use later on your pages to navigate between your pages.
Please note that your personal pages can only be accessed by you and can not be shared. If you need to share private data, you can create a private team or a public team to share public data. If someone else clicks on one of your personal links it will just shown a 404 page.
As described on the introduction, every time that you create a page on your teams, you will create a link to that page. E.g if you create a page called test
on the team nitoku.public
you will be at the same time creating the link https://www.nitoku.com/@nitoku.public/test
that can be used to access that page.
Please note that your pages on your private teams can only be accessed by you and the members of the team that you have invited. If someone else clicks on one of your personal links it will just shown a 404 page.
An anchor link (or "page jump") is a special URL that takes you to a specific place on a page. In Nitoku every markdown header will generate an anchor link automatically, you can then use that anchor link to jump to that specific header of the page. To copy the anchor link you need to use the computer mouse. Hover over the header, after you hover your cursor over the header you should see a link icon to the left of the Header, righ-click on your mouse to open your browser's contextual menu, on the menu click on "Copy Link"
A link to pages outside nitoku will open on a new window
File links like https://www.nitoku.com/file/@nitoku.design/nitoku.public-files/6adzk8mo0ic1s77.png will open in a dialog window. The following file types will also show a preview of the page:
